Let’s Vegas again, the new temporary slogan that seems to be the underlying theme on social media in Sin City. But, things are much different here now that we are slowly opening up casinos and people are starting to venture on to the strip and downtown Fremont street you can expect to see things differently for now.

Las Vegas Taxi and Rideshare
If you’re flying in for McCarran airport the terminals are encouraging social distancing and the use of face masks. When you get a cab or rideshare you will see your driver wearing a mask and you may have to wear one yourself all the way to your hotel.
Las Vegas Temperature Checks
Be prepared for Temperature checks upon arrival of your selected hotel. This will be a thing at all casinos. There will be EMT on staff to assist in checking and for further assistance if you happen to have a fever or if you’re not feeling well. They are there to take care of you.

Las Vegas Wash Stations and PPE’s
So far, the casinos that are open will have a wash station and provide you with PPE (personal protection equipment) at all the major entry points of the hotel. Providing masks, hand sanitizer and disposable gloves. This is really cool. I love washing my hands on the casino floor.
Las Vegas Social Distancing
You will see Social Distancing signage everywhere in the casino. Reminding you to keep 6 feet away from the person near you. The slot machines are either spread further apart or every other one or two machines are shut off with signs posted on them to let you know that social distancing is for your own health and safety. We’ve seen plenty of this in the first few casinos we visited.
Las Vegas Employees are Wearing Masks
All employees that work in any casino or any service job are required to wear a mask during there shift. You will see this theme throughout your stay here in Las Vegas. You may even see employees wearing a plexiglass face shield instead of a mask. We’ve seen this at The D downtown Las Vegas as some of the girls that dance on tabletops much prefer the plexiglass instead of the cloth mask.
Las Vegas Entertainment is Not Here Yet
The large shows and concerts are not up and running yet. We will need more time to figure out if infections are spreading or not to determine if entertainment will be a thing just yet. Fremont street is a great place to stop off to see the canopy and light show. Bellagio Fountains are on.
Las Vegas Buffets Closed
The buffets are not going to open just yet. Based on hotel room demand most managers are preparing to reopen as soon as they get the green light to move forward with serving its guests and keeping people from reaching in to scoop the macaroni onto there plate. But we do see buffets coming back mid-summer.
Las Vegas Self Check-ins on Going
Checking yourself in to the hotel is easier that ever before with most casinos on the strip offering this upon arrival. It just makes sense.
Las Vegas Valet Might Not Happen
Most casinos on the strip offer valet. Social distancing is kept well established and controlled. Expect social distancing when hailing a cab out in front of the casino. Rideshare is petty much the same procedure they may ask you to wear a mask upon entering the rideshare car.
Las Vegas New No Smoking Policy

Smoking here in Nevada is a thing and will most likely be a thing for a long time here. Park MGM is going to try out a No Smoking policy at their property when it gets ready to reopen. I’ll keep you informed on when this is. But for now, smoking is pretty much everywhere here in Las Vegas despite what you hear in the news and social media. Smoke if you got’em!
