Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion
The LVCC Expansion is part of the LVCC’s ongoing relationship to the larger growing side of the City. Las Vegas was settled in 1905 in a valley surrounded by mountains, mountains that now backdrop the casinos and hotels of the Vegas Strip, mountains that inspire the concourses of the LVCC; itself a frame, a backdrop and source of power to the dream of Las Vegas. The design begins and unifies the campus across the distance from the Strip to the South Hall. The Las Vegas Boulevard and its hotels; an artery of Vegas experience piped straight from the Strip.
LVCC Mega Project
The megaproject will proceed in phases. This phase, the LVCC District Expansion, is expected to be finished by the end of 2020, while a subsequent renovation of the existing 3.2-million-square-foot convention center will wrap in 2023.
LVCC History
Last year, 22,000 meetings, conventions and trade shows were held in Las Vegas. When it’s complete, the larger LVCC is expected to attract 2 million visitors per year.
The Las VegasConvention Center(LVCC)has been the number one trade show destination in North America for 23 consecutive years based upon the Trade Show News Network’s annual ranking of the top 250 trade shows in the industry. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the governing body of the LVCC, has determined it is critical that the convention center be expanded and renovated to continue to lead the industry, to meet the current needs of its trade show customers and to attract new shows in the future.
