Will MGM Dominate Las Vegas Strip After Caesars Sale?

Las Vegas is going to change again. This time it’s Caesars who is making moves to sell off properties on the Las Vegas Strip. Making Las Vegas a hotbed for new investors to scoop up properties in this ever-changing and growing city in the middle of the desert.

Caesars is placing its bet on getting Eldorado Resorts to sign a 4.5 billion dollar deal with Caesars in the coming months as they merge together to become Caesars Entertainment in a total valuation of over 18 Billion Dollars in its efforts to sell off most of its properties on the strip. This deal would allow other investors to control each property and compete with other mega-casino operators on the strip such as MGM. So far, MGM is the dominant fixture on the strip. The greed is about to stop on the south end of the strip where most MGM properties sit. The new casino owners will now compete with the monopolies of MGM and entice other visitors to come to their hotels with better rates and comps.

But, this is just the beginning of what’s to come of the Las Vegas strip. Las Vegas will also have a Resorts World which is set for completion in 2021 and just across the street is the newly names Drew (which was Fountain blue that never opened) set for completion in 2022. Not to mention the All Net Arena that sits where the old Wet and Wild Park was back in the day. SLS is just next door which is now called the Sahara Las Vegas. It’s getting a 150 million dollar makeover and is looking to bring back its guests from days past.

There is much to be desired here in Las Vegas as long as the economy is robust and unemployment is low. Things will keep moving along here in Sin City.

Sporting Arenas and More…

With the New addition of professional sports in the desert is a perfect storm for new business in Las Vegas. It started with the Las Vegas Golden Knights Hockey Expansion Team and then a woman’s professional basketball team The Las Vegas Aces which play at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The Raiders Stadium is next and talks of Pro Baseball, Basketball, and a Major League Soccer arena maybe next at the Cashman Field on the North end of Las Vegas. All of these sports will bring the traffic that Las Vegas is looking to attract in the coming years.

What does this mean for the people that come to Las Vegas?

Competition is great for business. This will give you the consumer choice in getting the best deal when it comes to hotels and amenities. You will start to see the prices get lower because of more rooms in Las Vegas. Circa Hotel Casino on Fremont Street will be the first casino build in downtown Las Vegas in over 40 years adding over 750 rooms next to the Golden Gate across from The Plaza Hotel Casino. The Grand Hotel Casino is adding a new tower adding an extra 350 rooms to its resort with exclusive VIP rooms. This is all good for the new visitor or the repeat visitor that comes to Las Vegas for entertainment and gaming in mind.

MGM

MGM will have to Bend The Knee for the changes that are being made here in Las Vegas. No more pay to park, no more limited drinks when gambling, no more of the resort fee BS that has plagued the strip for years. This has to stop or no one in their right mind is going to stay at your hotels. Pay to park is the straw that is breaking the backs of visitors that want to stay with MGM but has pushed its boundaries with repeat customers that are treated like newbies to Las Vegas.

The New Vegas

Expect new changes and new things to see and do. New entertainment and new venues for out of this world entertainment other than gambling. Yes, Vegas has seen it’s hay-day of gambling and outdated acts. This is the New Vegas and it’s just around the corner. Get ready for new excitement as things progress here at breakneck speeds.
