EDC Postponed Due to Pandemic
EDC Las Vegas tried to hold out as long as they could with its May 2020 dates for 2021. The pandemic is taking a toll on the Las Vegas economy and has taken another blow by postponing EDC to October 22-24, 2021. It could be altering some revelers’ plans to cancel and not go altogether.
EDC is the Largest Festival in Las Vegas
EDC brings over 400,000 people to its three-day event in Las Vegas. It is the largest North American dance music festival on the planet and has over 250 DJs and entertainment acts throughout the three-day event. It brings in over 1.3 billion dollars to the Las Vegas economy since its inception in 2011.
Covid-19 and the New Normal Las Vegas
But let’s remember, we may be in for some social change as things start to get back to normal. The new normal may look a bit different than yesterday and with an ongoing threat such as a coronavirus possed on society, we may be subject to new rules and regulations for when we go out to public places such as a large event or travel the world. Will a permanent policy on wearing a face mask be implemented at all public events and large gatherings? Will you have to carry around hand sanitizer where ever you go? Will, there be thermo-imaging surveillance cameras that scan for anyone that is displaying symptoms of a fever?
These are things we have to think about in the new world of deadly viruses and the unknown. What will the next few months look like as we venture closer to October and get ready for EDC in Las Vegas?
It may be a different experience that will be the “new normal” on a global scale.
