Farewell to Saam as SLS Rebrands to Sahara Las Vegas

Goodbye Saam at SLS Las Vegas

The statue is known as “Saam” is kind of a cross between a silver starfish and spaceman. To us locals, we call it Saamy. Nicknamed “Saam” after SBE Entertainment CEO and SLS owner Sam Nazarian.

Just one of the many renovations the SLS is undergoing and rebranding to the Sahara Las Vegas. The Saam Statue has been a fixture of the SLS since its arrival in 2016.

The demolition was with a commemorative fireworks display to honor the artist and usher in the new fixture that will replace the Saam statue with a digital waterfall according to a press statement. The SLS has so far remodeled the rooms, casino floor, and will feature new restaurants in the coming months as most casinos and hotels on the strip have had several changes to their own.
