In recent decline, Luxor has had a tough time trying to reinvent its self into a non-themed casino hotel. MGM Resorts just can’t pick up the pieces of the Egyptian theme and turn it into something else. It’s hard to sway away from its original design that has a boat ride and Hollywood FX. But, the big rumor going around town is that it could be on the chopping block to make room for bigger plans in the future of Las Vegas things to come. No official word from executives from MGM Resorts. This rumor was heard from Vital Vegas, a popular blogger that seems to have all the inside scoop when it comes to all things Las Vegas.

The Future of Las Vegas

Professional sports is the latest entertainment to plant roots in Las Vegas as the Las Vegas Aces women’s basketball team play at Mandalay Bay Conference Center, and just across the way the new Allegiant Football Stadium that will host the Las Vegas Raiders and UNLV Rebels football and a host of other entertainment acts. Plus, the Las Vegas Golden Knights plays at the T-Mobile arena just behind New York New York and Park MGM hotel-casinos. This is going to be a big year of change for Las Vegas as the city expands into a sports town with new venues and hotel construction that is moving along as planned.

Sports Could Be Las Vegas Saving Grace

As Las Vegas reinvents its self into a tech hub and sports town. Conventions have been stifled due to the prolonged outbreak of Covid-19 leaving Vegas to drum up some rollback deals and promotions to get visitors coming back. It will be tough, to say the least. But as things move forward, pro sports may be the saving grace that Las Vegas needs in order to survive out in the middle of the desert.
