Meow Wolf’s Self-Guided Exhibit in Las Vegas
Meow Wolf creates experience-based art exhibits that guests can play with and interact with in a self-guided way. Omega Mart follows the blow-up success of the House of Eternal Return exhibit in Santa Fe.
An immersive, interactive art installation for adults and kids, The House of Eternal Return is in a building in the city’s industrial district. It features secret passages and tunnels that end in a lounge and music venue.
Omega Mart in Las Vegas is based on a similar philosophy – marrying the mundane with the wondrous and alien housed at Area 15.

It’s a 52,000-square-foot viscerally stimulating, psychedelic and unpredictable immersive art experience. The experience begins with hundreds of products stocked on shelves.
Among the more than 150 products? Nut-Free Salted Peanuts. Plausible Deniability Laundry Detergent. And Wake Up! – a real household cleaning spray.
“The show here in Las Vegas is really a social commentary on consumerism, corporate culture and environmental stewardship, and it’s what we call an alternative storytelling environment,” said Corvas Brinkerhoff, executive creative director of Meow Wolf Las Vegas. “It’s mission is driven by conveying a story to the audience.”

What Story is Omega Mart Telling?
When you enter Omega Mart, you find yourself in what looks like a normal grocery store.
“Upon further inspection,” Brinkerhoff said, “you find something very odd is going on.”
As you continue to explore, you find portals into a parallel dimension.

“In that world, there are all kinds fantastical and mysterious things to explore,” Brinkerhoff said, but he resisted going into more detail so he wouldn’t spoil the trip for newcomers.
With each step through this new dimension, a story begins to unfold.
“You’ll find the operations of the shady parent company of Omega Mart called DRAMCORP and their metaphysical, science and manufacturing experiments,” Brinkerhoff said. “But you also find all kinds of other wondrous and surprising experiences.”
Hundreds of artists contributed to the artwork experienced in the world beyond the Omega Mart store at Area 15.
“Anybody who is interested in seeing art and understanding how art and technology and storytelling can come together in unique ways would find Omega Mart very compelling,” said Marsi Gray, an executive producer at Meow Wolf.
